Measurement Systems Limited's training centre provides hands-on, practicals-led courses for surveyors, engineers and GIS professionals at all experience levels. All courses are delivered at our Nairobi training facility with access to our full instrument inventory — no dummy equipment, real instruments from day one.

ALL LEVELS
Total Station Operations
Duration: 2 days | Level: All levels
Setup, orientation, angle and distance measurement, data collection, download and field checks using Suzhou FOIF, Topcon and compatible total station workflows. Field practicals cover traverse work, setting out and detail survey.
BEGINNER - INTERMEDIATE
GNSS RTK Survey
Duration: 3 days | Level: Beginner - Intermediate
GNSS fundamentals, coordinate systems, RTK configuration, correction source setup, point collection and stakeout using SinoGNSS and Toknav positioning equipment.
FIELD CREWS
Theodolite & Levelling Practice
Duration: 2 days | Level: Beginner - Intermediate
Practical angle measurement, line transfer, height transfer, benchmark checks, staff reading, digital level workflows and field-book discipline using FOIF levels and theodolites.
SITE TEAMS
Laser Measurement & Layout
Duration: 1 day | Level: Site teams
Use of Bosch rotary lasers, line lasers and laser distance meters for level transfer, indoor layout, quick area checks, alignment verification and site QA.
SPECIALIST
GPR Utility Detection
Duration: 2 days | Level: Intermediate
GPR fundamentals, scan planning, grid collection, utility detection workflows, depth interpretation limits, site marking, reporting and safety considerations for subsurface investigations.
AERIAL MAPPING
UAV Mapping Workflow
Duration: 2 days | Level: Intermediate
Mission planning, ground control, image capture, orthomosaic workflow, stockpile support, progress mapping and data handover for construction and land survey projects.
HYDROGRAPHIC
USV & Hydrographic Survey Basics
Duration: 2 days | Level: Intermediate
Survey planning for dams and inland waterbodies, GNSS positioning, transect planning, depth data collection, QA checks and basic hydrographic deliverables.
INTERMEDIATE
Survey Data Processing
Duration: 2 days | Level: Intermediate
Import and process total station, GNSS, UAV and field data, generate traverse checks, produce topographic drawings, contours, volume calculations and plot sheets using professional survey and CAD workflows.
ALL LEVELS
GIS Fundamentals
Duration: 3 days | Level: All levels
Introduction to GIS concepts, data capture, editing and analysis using QGIS. Covers vector and raster data, coordinate reference systems, attribute queries, map layout design and basic spatial analysis.
TECHNICAL TEAMS
Test & Measurement Tools
Duration: 1 day | Level: Site teams
Practical use of Reed Instruments, Bosch measuring tools, Dewalt site tools and Muya accessories for inspection, jobsite checks and technical reporting.
SUPERVISORS
Survey QA/QC & Field Procedures
Duration: 1 day | Level: Supervisors
Control checks, instrument verification, field documentation, data backup, deliverable review and error-prevention routines for survey and construction teams.
CPD Recognition & Certificates
- Courses may support Continuing Professional Development requirements for relevant professional bodies, subject to the applicable country, employer and professional registration rules.
- Course completion certificates issued to all participants who attend full duration and pass the practical assessment.
- Combined group certificate available for organisations sending teams of 5 or more.
Group Bookings
Group training is available for 5 or more participants from the same organisation. Group sessions can be hosted through our Nairobi headquarters and regional subsidiaries or at your premises (equipment transport arranged based on project location). Custom schedules, including weekend or evening sessions, can be arranged for groups.
