First CORS Training of the Year Equips Surveyors with RTK Skills

Measurement Systems Ltd opened the year with a CORS and GNSS training session at our Nairobi offices, guiding a new group of surveying professionals through the mechanics of the Muya CORS network and how it delivers centimetre-level RTK corrections over a mobile data connection, removing much of the equipment and setup time traditionally required for high-accuracy positioning.

About the event

The first CORS training of 2021 ran at the MSL Head Office on 14 January 2021 and ended with twenty-four surveyors receiving certificates of participation. After a refresher on how GNSS positioning and CORS corrections work, groups worked with RTK rovers and total stations, then looked at LIDAR scanners and GPR units used for corridor mapping and utility detection. The day set the pattern for the series that followed through the year.
