We were excited to bring a brand-new learning experience to the lakeside town of Homa Bay! Surveyors, engineers, and mapping professionals gathered to explore emerging technological trends in modern surveying and mapping equipment, gaining practical skills they could apply directly in their work.

The day began with focused theoretical sessions where our instructors covered GNSS fundamentals, the principles behind CORS and RTK correction services, baseline and ambiguity concepts, and best practices for data management and post-processing. We also discussed equipment selection, common sources of error, quality-control procedures, and efficient field workflows so participants had a solid conceptual foundation before heading into the field.

After the classroom portion, the training moved into hands-on practical activities. Attendees carried out live demonstrations and field exercises that included setting up base and rover RTK stations, configuring CORS network connections with different RTK systems, and troubleshooting common setup issues. Participants practiced real-world surveying tasks using ComNav and SinoGNSS RTK receivers, the Muya M9 Plus handheld GNSS, P6 handheld controllers, total stations, and automatic levels, giving everyone firsthand experience with setup, data capture, and correction application.

An equipment exhibition ran alongside the sessions, allowing attendees to compare tools, ask brand-specific questions, and test devices under instructor supervision. Plenty of time was allocated for Q&A and one-on-one troubleshooting, so participants left with practical fixes for the field challenges they face every day.

Overall, the Homa Bay training combined strong theory with applied practice to boost both understanding and hands-on competence. We’re proud of the enthusiasm and progress shown by everyone who attended — it was an inspiring day of learning, networking, and field experience that raised the standard for future trainings..
