The Reed BX-500-NIST is a portable blackbody-style calibrator for checking non-contact infrared thermometers and thermal imagers across a range of 122-932F (50-500C), supplied with a NIST calibration certificate. Its wide-aperture target and contact RTD reference compensate for optics variation between different IR thermometer models, and desired setpoints can be dialed in in 0.1-degree increments. Simply aim the IR thermometer at the calibrator's target once it reaches equilibrium to verify a reading.
