The R2940 is a Type K air/gas probe with a perforated stainless-steel shield around the sensing tip, designed to measure moving air and gas streams such as furnace, oven and HVAC exhaust with a fast sub-2-second response. It covers roughly -58 to 1652F (-50 to 900C) and comes with a 6-inch probe, 5-inch handle and 39-inch lead ending in the standard yellow K-type plug. This -NIST variant adds a NIST-traceable calibration certificate for applications requiring verified accuracy.
